IDG1362 Introduction to user-centered design

Description:

Institute for design, Gjøvik needs 3 student assistants in the course «Introduction to user-centered design». From the course description «The core of this course is to introduce the students for Design Thinking and they will learn to use it by identifying a problem or a need in a software interface for a defined group of users. The students will then develop suggested solutions through using creative techniques and make sketches and prototypes and in a systematic way, test these solutions on the primary users of the software.» The work will include guidance of and contact with students.

Student assistants should be 2nd or 3rd year students at BWU, BIXD or BMED. It is an advantage if the student assistant has been through the topic “Design thinking”, and a requirement that the student has provable knowledge related to design and user centered design methods, with at least a B as a grade. The assistant must speak English as the teaching and deliveries are in English, and it is advantageous that he or she can also speak Norwegian.

The work will vary in scope and has a limit of at least 100 hours per assistant per semester. Some hours of work each week will be necessary (minimum 2 to 5h). The mentoring team is may flexible so that it will fit to you personal study schedule.

The position is paid NOK 160,10 per hour (or NOK 164,10 with LAOS course) + feriepenger.
