Student teaching assistant shell scripting (IDG1100 Web fundamentals)

5 student teaching assistants are sought by the Department of Design to help designing and running a series of theoretical lectures and hands-on tutorials on scripting languages and UNIX command-line utilities (bash, sed, awk…), as part of the IDG1100 course on Web fundamentals.

Teaching assistants will be an integral part of the teaching team and will help with the following tasks:

  • designing the content of the lectures and of the exercises;
  • assisting students during the hands-on tutorials;
  • answering questions on the course forum;
  • correcting and grading assignments.

The applicants must be fluent in Norwegian and English. The applicants must also have a good knowledge of the Bash shell, of common scripting languages, and of UNIX-like (Linux or macOS/BSD) systems in general.

The estimated total number of working hours per student per term is approximately 40~50 hours. The retribution is NOK 159,40 per hour + holiday pay (feriepenger).

  1. A short CV in PDF, maximum two pages, which describes the background and the interests of the candidate. The CV must include a list of the programs and technologies that the candidate knows or is familiar with (for example: Bash, sed, rsync, vim).
